Like I told Grace, I'm saving up for a better blanket and pillow. Otherwise I mean...it is what it is. I don't necessarily feel unsafe, or uncomfortable. I would prefer more space, but then again--this is also a prison. I get that.

Least you listen and seem to legit and active.

I only asked because I let Volk stay in the adjacent room while he was my temp. It's only fair I offer the same to you.

I'm bringing it up only because I don't want you thinking I am getting up to trouble. I keep weird hours--can't sleep sometimes.

I try not to assume. You're not the only one around here with sleeping problems. Is it the ship?

Not sure what it is, other than general boredom and frustration. Ship probably doesn't help.

Add Theo to 'essentially children' category. I think I've seen her in passing, didn't know her name.

Try not to freak Grace out too much. She's a bit in over her head, and two inmates is going to be a handful for anyone.

From what I know, she's the one who freaks people out.

So I hear. But I suspect it's not her fault. And my point stands. I don't know much about the other inmate assigned to her, so I'm counting on you to help make sure she's not damaged.

I can't guarantee no damage. But I have my own reasons for wanting her safe.

it looks like we've been paired this month

full disclosure though
i have been assigned two inmates this month
i don't think it should be a problem
though i'm not familiar with the new guy yet

anyway the point is i was going to offer you the inmate room by me but it might not be fair to the new guy
maybe a rock paper scissors thing would be more fair ?
or maybe he should stay in the dorms because he's new and he should get the lay of the land ?
or maybe neither
anyway you have seniority and good behavior so far so what would you rather do ?

How's the sleeping bag working out?

I don't don't mind the dorms, and I'd argue you should have the newer guy closer to you to keep an eye on, if you feel it's necessary. While I wouldn't object to private space again, I can survive.

and then if he seems like he'd survive in the dorms ok then i'd be ok with you taking the room
